Refugees and Myths

Following on from last time, I have found another UK based site that is trying to improve the conditions of asylum seekers in the United Kingdom. It contains a few campaigns with the relevant information and links to other organizations. The second link below is a section on myths regarding refugees which you may find interesting.

Refugees

The debate about refugees seems recently to be more controversial with some parts of the media being very hostile. I feel it is a crucial topic to address since people persecuted in their own countries often have no option other than to seek asylum. Many critics question how it is possible to distinguish authentic asylum seekers from so called economic migrants. However, that discussion is too complex for this blog particularly since we should remember that economic migrants also have human rights. Whatever your view, detention of refugees should be humane but often that is not the case. So below is a site that aims to improve the conditions of asylum seekers with an action section:

Death Penalty Part 2

One of the organisations of the World Coalition against the Death Penalty which I looked at last time is the site below. It has lots of remarkable news, debates, recent information andplenty of campaign material. It is based in the United Kingdom with links around the world as well as having an Honourary President who was 17 years on Death Row before being released. I recommend having an in depth look at this professional looking site.
